This double-edged digger has a saw tooth edge on one side of the blade to cut through roots and a blade on the other to cut through tuff grass and dirt. The Lesche digging tool has a comfortable rubber grip handle with hand guard plate. Will cut plugs in soil quickly. The digger is 12″ overall and made in the USA out of Chrome-Moly steel. Comes with a Cordura belt sheath.

More than just a “Sod-Cutter”, it’s a serious hand tool.,
The price kind of scared me off until I actually held one in my hand. I thought it was probably just an over-priced garden hand trowel. It isn’t. It’s very well made and feels comfortable and well balanced in the hand. I use mine to fix water leaks. Once we’ve uncovered a leak with a backhoe and shovels, we use this tool to clean up around the broken area to make a repair. It gets right in to the tough spots and disturbs just as little ground support as possible. It’s strong enough to dig in clay and rock. The first time we used it there were a few comments from the crew about the tool and what it cost. But it worked flawlessly and didn’t get broken or all bent out of shape as other small hand tools do. Now it’s one of those “go to” tools when preparing to make repairs. After using it on two jobs, one of the other guys decided to get one for his tool box just to make sure we always have one on the job. And it’s made in the USA, if that matters.

This tool was recommended to me by a friend who has been using a metal detector for a few years. It’s a sturdy tool, with a comfortable grip. It will cut through even the thickest sod with no problems, and it’s shape gives you good leverage for prying out your plug or extra dirt. The tool also has a smooth finish to it which makes it easy to clean as the dirt tends to not stick to it. If you’re looking for a digging tool, this is definitely the one to get!

A must have for anyone with a metal detector. The only thing that holds up in our baked red clay and gravel brick tough soil. Call metal detector dealers, and get one thrown in with your purchase or try for a sub $30 price verbally. I did.
